THE CONTEXT:

Swiss Life called on Plafometal to renovate over 900 m² of ceilings in its vast open-plan offices in Brussels. The challenges of this project were to combine comfort and safety: half-hour fire resistance to comply with current fire regulations while also achieving the best possible sound absorption.

OUR RESPONSE:

Plafometal proposed a Fire Stable (SF) ceiling system, combining:

• Acoustic comfort: αw up to 1.
• Fire resistance to meet French and Belgian standards
• Ease of installation
• Aesthetics

To meet our client's request, we proposed the PM8 system on a flat rail, a self-supporting tray with hooks intended for offices and halls from the SF range, filled with bagged mineral wool to obtain the best possible absorption coefficient: αw=1 (Alpha Plus offer).

For this project, Plafometal manufactured and delivered 1792 PM8 hook trays measuring 1732x300mm, with 11% perforation Ø1.5mm in a pre-painted white color.

PM8 SF ON SMOOTH

• Fire-resistant for 30 minutes to comply with French and Belgian regulations.
• Designed for slatted installation on flat rails or 100mm hollow joints: ideal for offices with removable partitions.
• The tray has hooks and has joined edges and sharp corners.
