Selection guide

  • Acoustic comfort
  • Active fire protection

The advantages of the system

  • Aesthetics: panels on concealed framework with offset edge featuring a hollow joint to absorb alignment deviations with the wall for a straight finish
  • Opening: swing-down from below, ideal for crowded plenums, and robust in handling
  • Plenum ventilation: suitable for hospital environments
  • Acoustic: high correction, absorption coefficient αw up to 1 (NRC = 1)

Description

  • Self-supporting ceiling made of expanded metal panels hung on a concealed profile creating a closed gap joint between the panel ends and the wall
  • Self-supporting steel panels with seamless edges
  • The panels have raised inner hook ends (BRIC) allowing them to be suspended on the framework and tipped. This provides the panel with robustness for handling
  • The edge profile consists of a reprise ledge to be fixed to the wall and a hooking profile to be offset and fixed under the wing of the ledge according to the length of the panels between notches. It allows the closed gap joint thus formed to absorb alignment deviations with the wall
  • Optional acoustic enhancements

Bulk cut

A gap A is required between the panel and the wall. Dimensions in mm.

Appearance

  • Expanded mesh

    Dimensions

    • Mesh: Geometry WL x WD - LG x Th
    • Panel: width in the WL direction of the mesh, length in the WD direction

    Installation

    • The direction of light entry through the mesh depends on its laying direction, visually recognizable by its inclination.
    • Depending on the desired visual effect, the panels can be installed in the same direction or alternating every two.

Performance

  • Indoor air quality

    Class A+ for all products:

    • Unfilled
    • From the ALPHA PLUS range, with specific bagged insulation

Class A for all products from the ALPHA PLUS range, with specific surfaced insulation.

  • Sound absorption

According to standard EN ISO 11654

    • αw up to 1 (NRC = 1) with the ALPHA PLUS range

Refer to the table in the Metal Acoustic Ceilings brochure.

  • Acoustic complement

ALPHA PLUS offer: specific acoustic insulation with a surface veil or encapsulated in a PE film
Refer to the Acoustic page in the Product Catalog appendices for more details.

  • Corrosion resistance

    Ceiling indoors

    • Class B for standard steel frameworks according to the EN 13964 standard
    • Corrosion resistance C1 according to EN 12944 for standard steel MESH panels (not covered by EN 13964)
    • Corrosion resistance 2a according to EN 13096 for aluminum MESH panels (not covered by EN 13964)
    • Suspensions and fixings to the supports should be selected according to the desired class
    • Refer to the Implementation page in the Product Catalog Annexes for more details.

  • Cleanability

By nature, our metal ceilings require minimal maintenance. However, various types of cleaning are still possible. Please refer to the Maintenance page in the Product Catalog annexes for more details.

  • Reservations, integrations

    Customized factory cut on request.

  • Opening

Access to the plenum by vertically pushing the panel then laterally sliding to escape the hooking profile. The panel swings down and remains suspended on the opposite profile.

  • Resistance to disinfection chemicals

Our metal ceilings are resistant to sodium hypochlorite 2.5%, hydrogen peroxide 6%, or ethanol 70% disinfectants (according to EN 12720 and ISO 11998 standards).Refer to the page Maintenance in the Product Catalog annexes for more details.

  • Active fire protection

According to the EN 12845 standard

    • If sprinklers are installed above the open cell ceiling panel, the total open flat surface area, including lighting fixtures, must not be less than 70% of the flat surface
    • In practice, a void percentage greater than 80% is commonly requested for panel elements

    Ceiling void percentage

    • Over 70%: RB35, RB55, RB55 XL, RB75
    • Over 80%: RB55 XL
  • Reaction to fire

    A2-s1, d0

General presentation of the system family

Family : Plafonds en métal déployé MESH

Ideal for tertiary buildings, hospitals, airports, parking areas...

Aesthetics:

  • Wide selection of meshes for different visual effects with natural or artificial light coming from the plenum
  • Depending on the installation and observation direction, the metal appears more or less open
  • Ideal solution for dividing technical areas with elegance
  • Various finishes with shadow joint according to the systems

Acoustic:

  • Possibility of absorption coefficient αw up to 1.00 (NRC = 1.00)

Practical:

  • Easy installation and opening
  • Robustness during handling
  • Allows active fire protection systems to operate through the ceiling

Sub-family : Plafond MESH autoportant pour circulations

MESH systems opening on concealed profiles

  • Adaptable to corridor width
  • Various finishes with open joints depending on the systems
  • Self-supporting from wall to wall avoiding suspended structures in crowded plenums
  • Wide plenum access
  • Natural ventilation of the plenum (if panel not filled with mineral wool)
