Selection guide

  • Acoustic comfort
  • Fire resistant

The advantages of the system

  • Aesthetic: concealed grid with off-set edge and shadow gap allowing for wall alignment variations for a perfectly straight finish
  • Acoustic: high sound absorption, αw absorption coefficient up to 1 (NRC = 1)
  • Opening: swing-down on both sides from below, ideal for crowded plenums
  • Plenum ventilation: open shadow gap suitable for hospital environments
  • Safety: Fire-Resistant ½ h and ¼ h to comply with regulations in common escape routes in high-rise buildings (IGH)

Description

  • Swing-down opening ceiling made up of panels hooked on a concealed profile forming an open groove joint between the end of the panels and the wall
  • Self-supporting steel panels with continuous edges and sharp angles
  • The panels are equipped with notches at their ends allowing for their suspension on the grid and their swinging to one side or the other
  • The concealed profile consists of a reprise trim to be fixed to the wall and a hanging profile to be shifted and fixed under the flange of the reprise trim according to the length of the panel between notches. It allows the open groove joint formed to absorb alignment deviations with the wall
  • Acoustic enhancements available as an option
  • Fire-Resistant Ceiling: refer to the installation guide Orial Fire-Resistant and always refer to the test reports and extensions available on request

Bulk cut

An A gap is required between the panel and the wall. Dimensions in mm.

Performance

  • Light reflection

    Up to 87%

  • Indoor air quality

    Class A+ for all products:

    • Non-perforated
    • From the ALPHA range
    • From the ALPHA PLUS range, with specific encapsulated insulation

Class A for all products from the ALPHA PLUS range, with specific surfaced insulation

  • Sound absorption

According to standard EN ISO 11654

    • αw up to 0.80 (NRC = 0.80) with the ALPHA range
    • αw up to 1 (NRC = 1) with the ALPHA PLUS range

Acoustic performances subject to the chosen perforation. Please refer to the table in the brochure Acoustic metal ceilings.

  • Acoustic complement

    • ALPHA offer: Plafometal acoustic ceiling
    • ALPHA PLUS offer: specific acoustic insulation surfaced with a veil or encapsulated in a PE film

Refer to the Acoustic page in the Product Catalog annexes for more details.

  • Fire Stability

The bays and SF edge profiles are specific and must always be implemented in accordance with the Minutes and extensions available on request. Also refer to the installation guide Orial Fire-Resistant.

  • Corrosion resistance

    Indoor ceiling

    • Class B according to standard EN 13964
    • Suspensions and fixations to supports are to be selected according to the desired class

Refer to the page Implementation of the Product Catalog annexes for more details.

  • Cleanability

By nature, our metal ceilings require minimal maintenance. However, various types of cleaning are possible. Please refer to the Maintenance page in the Product Catalog Appendix for more details, including advanced high-pressure and dry steam cleaning.

  • Reservations, integrations

The ceiling must not support any other load than its own weight. Various equipment (lighting, ventilation, sound systems, signs, etc.) can be hung from the main or secondary structure of the building using hangers passing through the ceiling with minimal clearance. This secondary structure must then be checked for thermal performance, through testing or calculation according to the current standards referring to the CSTB test report.

  • Opening

Access to the plenum by vertical push of the panel followed by lateral translation to escape the hooking profile. The panel tilts and remains suspended on the opposite profile.

  • Resistance to disinfection chemicals

Our metal ceilings are resistant to sodium hypochlorite 2.5%, hydrogen peroxide 6%, or ethanol 70% disinfectants (according to EN 12720 and ISO 11998 standards).Refer to the page Maintenance in the Product Catalog annexes for more details.
