Fire-resistant ceiling installed on exposed edge profile with PM8 SF panel.
Horizontal common circulations in high-rise buildings (HBC)PLAFOMETAL-CC-420 is a Fire-Resistant system adaptable to corridor dimensions. The PM8 SF panels are self-supporting from wall to wall, avoiding the use of suspended grids in cluttered plenums with numerous distribution networks. They are directly laid on exposed wall angles, making them a straightforward standard installation solution. Their strength, combined with a large access opening, will facilitate maintenance phases throughout the building's lifespan.

The advantages of the system
- Installation: simple and fast system, economical and sustainable solution
- Acoustic: high sound absorption, absorption coefficient αw up to 1 (NRC = 1)
- Access: easily demountable with reduced demounting on hollow joint angle
- Aesthetics: finishings with seamless panel edges and sharp angles
- Safety: Fire-resistant stability of 30 minutes and 15 minutes to comply with regulations in the common escape routes of high-rise buildings (IGH)
Description
- Self-supporting ceiling made up of panels placed on an exposed edge profile
- Self-supporting steel panels with butt or hollow joints, sharp angles or chamfered
- Depending on the model, the panels have their ends open-ended (BO) and can easily overlap in length during installation to adapt to the wall-to-wall distance. They can also be provided to length with straight raised ends (BRD) to improve lateral rigidity and finish on the edge
- The edge profile is an L angle or a hollow joint angle (W) which has the advantage of hiding wall irregularities while reducing the height of the panel's reveal in often cramped plenums
- Optional acoustic enhancements
- Fire-Resistant Ceiling: refer to the installation guide PM8 Fire-Resistant and always refer to the test reports and extensions available upon request

Corrosion resistance
Indoor ceiling
- Class B according to standard EN 13964
- The suspensions and fixings to the supports are to be selected according to the desired class
Refer to the Implementation page in the Product Catalog Annexes for more details.
-
Cleanability
By nature, our metal ceilings require minimal maintenance. However, different types of cleaning are possible. Refer to the Maintenance page in the Product Catalog appendices for more details.
-
Reservations, integrations
The ceiling must not bear any other load than its own weight. Various equipment (lighting, ventilation, sound systems, signage, etc.) can be attached to the main or secondary structure of the building using hangers passing through the ceiling with minimal clearance. This secondary structure must then be checked and validated, either through testing or calculation, in accordance with the relevant standards referenced in the CSTB's Technical Assessment Report.
-
Opening
Access to the plenum by lifting the panel within the grid.
-
Resistance to disinfection chemicals
Our metal ceilings are resistant to 2.5% sodium hypochlorite, 6% hydrogen peroxide, or 70% ethanol disinfectants (according to EN 12720 and ISO 11998 standards).
Refer to the Maintenance page in the Product Catalog annex for more details. -
