MESH ceiling installed on exposed profiles with D5s and D4s panels
standard horizontal circulations
PLAFOMETAL-EM-130 is a system adaptable to corridor dimensions. D4s D5s expanded metal panels are self-supporting from wall to wall, avoiding the use of suspended frameworks in plenums crowded with numerous distribution networks. They are directly laid on exposed edge angles, making it a standard and easy-to-install solution. Their robustness combined with a wide opening will facilitate maintenance phases throughout the building's lifespan.

The advantages of the system
- Aesthetics: finishing of panels with seamless edges (D5s) or hollow joints (D4s)
- Installation: simple and fast system, cost-effective and sustainable solution
- Opening: easily removable with reduced demounting on hollow joint angles
- Plenum ventilation: suitable for healthcare environments
- Acoustics: high sound correction, absorption coefficient αw up to 1 (NRC = 1)
Description
- Self-supporting ceiling composed of expanded metal panels installed on an exposed edge profile.
- Self-supporting steel panels with butt joint (D5s) or hollow joint (D4s)
- The panels can be easily cut to length during installation to fit the wall-to-wall distance.
- The edge profile is an L angle or a hollow joint angle (W) which has the advantage of concealing wall irregularities while reducing the panel's reveal height in often cluttered plenums.
- Acoustic accessories available as an option.

Dimensions
- Mesh: Geometry WL x WD - LG x Th
- Panel: width in the WL direction of the mesh, length in the WD direction

Installation
- The direction of light entry through the mesh depends on its laying direction, visually recognizable by its inclination.
- Depending on the desired visual effect, the panels can be installed in the same direction or every other one inverted.

Opening
Access to the plenum by lifting the panel within the grid.
-
Resistance to disinfection chemicals
Our metal ceilings are resistant to 2.5% sodium hypochlorite, 6% hydrogen peroxide, or 70% ethanol disinfectants (according to EN 12720 and ISO 11998 standards).Refer to the Maintenance page in the Product Catalog Annex for more details.
-
Active fire protection
According to EN 12845When sprinklers are installed above the open suspended panel, the total open flat surface, including lighting fixtures, must not be less than 70% of the flat surface. In practice, a void percentage greater than 80% is commonly requested for panel elements.Ceiling void percentage - Over 70%: RB35, RB55, RB55 XL, RB75- Over 80%: RB55 XL
